Moteme Phuti Holdings was appointed to conduct comprehensive 3D laser scanning of an existing ore chute assembly earmarked for structural refurbishment. The chute, located within an active mining processing facility, had undergone significant wear, corrosion, and dimensional distortion over its operational lifespan.
Using advanced FARO laser scanning technology, our team captured the precise as-built geometry of the entire chute structure — including surrounding steelwork, platforms, and access systems — under live operational conditions. The scan data was subsequently registered and processed into engineering-grade point clouds, forming the basis for accurate fabrication and structural documentation.
Project Scope
- On-site 3D laser scanning of chute and surrounding steelwork
- Point cloud registration and data processing
- As-built CAD documentation for fabrication reference
- Structural geometry verification and deviation analysis
- Digital record creation for maintenance planning
Deliverables
- Registered point cloud dataset
- As-built 3D CAD model
- Structural deviation analysis
- 2D as-built engineering drawings
