Jet Fuel Line Upgrade
ACSA Skytanks — Airport Fuel Infrastructure
Moteme Phuti Holdings was engaged to provide precision 3D laser scanning services in support of a jet fuel line upgrade at an ACSA (Airports Company South Africa) Skytanks fuel storage and distribution facility. The project involved capturing the exact as-built condition of existing fuel pipeline infrastructure, storage tanks, and supporting structures to facilitate safe and accurate upgrade planning.
Our team executed a comprehensive scan campaign across the facility, capturing detailed spatial data of the tank farm, fuel distribution pipelines, valve assemblies, and site infrastructure. The resulting registered point cloud data provided the project's engineering team with a reliable spatial reference for the new pipeline routing, clash detection, and as-built documentation — eliminating the risks associated with working from outdated drawings in a live fuel-handling environment.
Project Scope
- Full-site 3D laser scanning of fuel storage and pipeline infrastructure
- Point cloud registration and georeferencing
- Pipeline and tank as-built spatial documentation
- Spatial clash analysis to support new pipeline routing
- Digital deliverable preparation for engineering use
Deliverables
- Registered site point cloud dataset
- As-built pipeline routing documentation
