Fertilizer Plant As-Built Survey

Moteme Phuti Holdings was appointed by Omnia Holdings to conduct a comprehensive 3D laser scanning survey of their fertilizer manufacturing facility. Omnia is one of South Africa's leading integrated chemicals and mining services groups, operating large-scale industrial processing plants across the country. The project required detailed as-built documentation of the plant's complex process equipment, structural steelwork, pipe runs, and associated infrastructure.

Working in a live production environment under strict safety protocols, our team deployed FARO Focus S laser scanners across multiple levels and access areas within the plant. The scan data was registered into a unified point cloud dataset — capturing pipe routing, vessels, structural columns, cable trays, platforms, and equipment footprints with millimetre-level accuracy. The final deliverables provide Omnia's engineering and maintenance teams with a precise digital record of the plant's as-built condition, ready for future modification planning, maintenance scheduling, and brownfield project execution.
